BIM concept helps build active house

With no building information modeling software available for designing single-family homes, Great Gulf adapted its own software to serve much the same purpose in the construction of an active house in Toronto. The result was a three-dimensional virtual version of the house, which is designed with a nearly airtight envelope, heavy insulation and other resource-conserving features to minimize the home’s environmental footprint.
